POVERTY AND HUNGER -PROJECT ENRICH
As the saying goes, “Poverty anywhere is a threat to prosperity everywhere,” poverty is one of the greatest challenges that the humanity is facing in the present times. The goal of eradicating poverty in all its forms has been reiterated on national and international platforms. India also considered this objective as utmost important and as per the official estimates of NITI AAYOG, nearly 135 million people have been lifted out of poverty from 2015-16 to 2019-21. India has also evolved as one of the self-sufficient nations in food production. Albeit, the factual data displays remarkable achievements, there are still some 23 % of population in the Below Poverty Line category and around 270 million hungry people. Poverty is one of the leading causes of hunger. Recognising the intense physical and mental consequences, poverty presents, we embarked on a journey to address the issues related to poverty and hunger and reduce inequalities.
