RURAL DEVELOPMENT – PROJECT VISTARA
Majority of the population lives in rural areas in India and the same is the case with many other countries. Accordingly, Rural Development takes an active and promising role especially, in light of the targets set to achieve by 2030 as UN-SDG’s. An interconnected and contextual approach is required while dealing with the issues rural areas are facing. It is because of the interlinking nature of the issues such as poverty and hunger with educational opportunities, lack of skills and employment opportunities with issues of migration, illiteracy of women with poor maternal and infant child health. Recognizing the complex and crucial role this sector plays, UN-DESA in its world social development report 2021, gave preceding role to Rural Development. Also, the success of this sector precedes the establishment of sustainable communities with improved standards of living. Our Earth Heroes understand this complex phenomenon and thus approach these issues holistically. We align our activities based on the model villages and also design our initiatives which include most of the issues ranging from poverty and hunger to climate change and sustainable lifestyle practices.
